It was Maroon 5's night tonight with the band taking to the stage for the coveted Superbowl Halftime show but the spotlight was swiftly stolen from them.
SpongeBob Squarepants made a surprise appearance alongside his nemesis Squidward to introduce Travis Scott to the stage for Sicko Mode.
The appearance was a nod to the SpongeBob episode where Squidward is tricked into forming a marching band for the Bubble Bowl.
It goes without saying that the internet was a big fan of the move which is probably more than we can say for Maroon 5's divisive performance.
