    Tony Mottola should not be confused with Tommy Mottola, the colourful song plugger and ex-head of Sony Music US (and husband and mentor of Mariah Carey). That would be scant justice for a man who made many many albums with covers like this -

     



    Which you’ve probably flicked past a million times in bargain bins and car boots and garage sales even though they were priced at $1 (maximum).

    After all who wanted Tony’s dulcet guitar tones and Perry Como (an easy listening superstar who allegedly had a metal plate in his nose due to excessive cocaine use, but who still rocked a great cardigan and did a mean Xmas special) doing easy listening classics like this -

     

    (btw, that’s Tony on guitar upfront)



    But as cheesy as these are you might recognise the intro to this one if you are a sample spotter -

     



    and The Avalanches “Since I left You” is one of your favourite records.

    If nothing else, it gives us yet another chance to dust this video off and say … “Still Waiting For Album #2 Boys”.
