Batten down the hatches! This is without a doubt the HEAVIEST playlist in the history of our TGIF series. Put together by Julio Mejia and Matt Toth aka DJ & production duo GTA.
The guys are quickly making a name for themselves thanks to their ‘death to genres’ stance, refusing to be pigeonholed and constantly keeping people guessing by weaving in and out of trap, house, hip-hop, boomin’ electro, R&B and even rock. As long as it keeps people moving they’re all about it, oh and massive bass drops that’ll melt your face are all just par for the course.
A prime example is their latest single, the Juyen Sebulba collaboration Hard House which is one of the duo’s most defiantly anti-genre tracks to date and serves as an ideal taste of what’s to come. Mejia said “We knew the first thing had to be in your face.”… Well… MISSION COMPLETE.
Fresh off remixing the biggest hit of the last 12 months and touring with some guy called Skrillex, the guys are hittin’ our shores for a run of club shows which are sure to be well and truly off the chain…
Checkout their heavyweight selections below which will give you a taste of what to expect live and you can find Hard House where all good records are sold | streamed
TGIF WITH GTA
Sander Van Doorn & Oliver Heldens - This
This track has such a huge bass line! I love the major contrast of the first drop and then the major grooves that come in! Really blows people minds
Herve Pagez - Yo Ready
We made this track into a big intro for our sets because it hits so hard! It really gets the night started. YO READY
GTA & Juyen Sebulba - Hard House (Original Mix)
Of course we gotta put our own tracks on here! This track has been killing it in our sets ever since we made it with our boy Juyen Sebulba.
Snappy Jit – Bumpa
Gotta rep our Miami dudes! This guy has been making some really funky ghetto club tracks. The vox remind me of some video game but it just makes the tracks so vibey!
ILOVEMAKONNEN feat. Drake - Tuesday
This song is so simple and short but we love the catchy chords and vocal melody! Makonnen’s verse is our favorite out of the 2.
Salva ft Problem - Motivated
Salva totally went in on the instrumental! We just love how it fits with Problem and the way he raps. Very West Coast, much like!
Rustie ft. Danny Brown - Attak
Rustie KILLED the beat!! The melody is so catchy and Danny Brown’s intensity and flow fits the track perfectly too!
Bakersville - BriteFoot
Love how electro this track is! The chords are dope and this reminds me of 2009-2010 “Bloody Beetroots x Filter Disco” kind of stuff that we used to love back before we started producing together!
