Newcastle-bred, LA-based party punks The Gooch Palms have dropped an absolutely cooked new video for their new song, Marfa Lights, an ode to the time the duo were in small-town Texas - Marfa to be exact, famous for that tiny Prada storefront you see on posters everywhere and the so-called UFO sightings from as far back as the '50s.
The video itself focuses on the Prada storefront... until aliens start landing on the road and start dancing to the band's song. You can also see a black egg-shaped thing flying in the air, and it turns out that the visuals are actually based on the band's own experience while in Marfa.
Apparently, the band caught the egg-shaped object just hanging perfectly in the air, and no matter how far they drove they couldn't get any closer to it. And later that night, the band drove to Highway 90 where the Marfa Lights are best seen from (or so people say). And saw them they did (and even sceptic Leroy couldn't believe his eyes) - "Bright orbs of light darting back and forth in front of a mountain range above the desert scrub, appearing and disappearing, merging together, splitting apart, or sometimes just hovering in the same place for a bit."
Leroy and Kat scribbled down some lyrics and finally, a year later, this song came to be. Stream or download the song here.
The Gooch Palms are also heading out on the road from 19 October until 3 November, along the east coast.
