The Kite String Tangle has just dropped his new album, C()D3X, and it's full of the synthy sounds we've come to expect from TKST, but with a harder, darker twist.
Here are what activities we're suggesting you should be doing while at home listening to each track of the album, as well as what makes the track the perfect soundtrack to the activity.
C()DEX
C()DEX is a great album opener, and the perfect track to inspire you while doing a cryptic crossword. It starts off with glitchy, industrial sounds which will wake you up, and the whole track carries a sense of urgency. Looking to fill in 7 Down, but afraid you'll nod off if you're thinking too long? This track will wake you up, and make sure you get the whole thing done.
P()L4R
Relatively speaking, this is a 'gentler' track than C()DEX, which makes P()L4R a great track to help you get your gardening done. It's about showing love, and if you don't show your plants love, then they'll be the ones that got away - which is something no garden lover wants. Take care of your plants, and get some good music in your ears. What more could you want?
NINON DE L'ENCLOS
If you're wanting a gym session, whether that be at home or at the actual gym, then you'll want to be listening to this song. It's full of pumping beats that'll make you want to squeeze out one final rep and the hypnotic vocals will get you amped up too. It's never too early to start working on your summer bod, after all.
KILLING TIME (feat. Eliott)
If you've got anyone at home with you, then this is the perfect track to listen to while playing hide and seek. The song title, Killing Time, lends itself nicely to what you'll be doing while trying to win hide and seek, as well as the feeling of joy you'll get once you're reunited with the person you're either hiding from or seeking, at the end of the game. As TKST sings, "lay low", which is great hide and seek advice. Under the bed, anyone?
I.618
The futuristic sounds on this track lend themselves nicely to making this the perfect song to listen to while learning how to code. Whether you want to make your own game, your own website or you're coming up with the next big app idea, let this song inspire creativity within you, and guide you on a productive brainstorm.
LANDSLIDE (feat. Kateboy)
Grab some drumsticks, this is the song to get you inspired to learn the drums. The percussion on Landslide makes it one of the highlights of the album. You'll feel the drums in every cell of your body, so even if you don't have any rhythm, you'll soon pick it up. Much like TKST and Kateboy are caught in a landslide, you'll be caught in the hypnotic beats.
IRIS
Who doesn't love a spot the difference challenge? Iris is one of the more relaxed songs on the album, allowing you to concentrate on the details of a spot the difference. Much like the spot the difference, this track will reward you for listening to the song a little bit deeper - TKST's vocals on this track might just be the best on the album.
NORTH
This is a track for going on an adventure. Grab a compass, grab some headphones and go forth (or North). Just don't get too lost in the music, or you might end up lost in real life - and as magical as TKST's music is, he can't help you out of that pickle.
GHOST NOISE
If you're brave enough, then go explore a 'haunted' house while listening to this song (but only have one earphone/headphone in, in case something goes bump). Ghost Noise is definitely the eeriest song on the album, and it'll make whatever you're doing just a little bit spookier.
KEROSENE
By this point, there's only one thing left to do - have a dance party. Dance like you just don't care, because after all, if anyone judges you, then they're the one missing out on all the fun.
I.S.T.A.U (feat. LANKS)
You don't need to do anything while listening to this track - just sit down, relax and enjoy it. You've earned it. TKST and Lanks provide the goods on the closing track to C()DEX, and TKST proves that he's not a victim of the second album blues.
Hopefully you've managed to get a heap of activities done as well!
