UK trio & Splendour in the Grass faves The xx announced yesterday that they'll be touring back to Australia next year, with shows planned in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. If that wasn't good enough news for all of us, The SBS have reported that the band will be donating $1 from each ticket sold to local LGBTQI organisations.
The initiative will be run through Plus 1, a charity which assists artists to support charities and causes important to them. Originally founded by Arcade Fire's Marika Anthony-Shaw to raise money for Haiti after the earthquake, Plus 1 is now supported by acts such as The National, St Vincent, Vampire Weekend and Tegan & Sara.
This news comes at such a crucial time for Australia, with the controversial same-sex marriage postal plebiscite just around the corner giving even people who are pushing the 'No' vote a platform.
The xx will be joined by supports Kelela and Earl Sweatshirt. You can check out the dates below and grab your tix here from 25 August.
