    SpongeBob SquarePants better hand his leave form in to Krusty Krab because he's headed to Broadway.

    The show is being adapted into a musical set to debut by the end of the year and it's got a pretty sweet soundtrack of songs.

    David Bowie's No Control will feature in the musical alongside other songs by The Flaming Lips, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, T.I. and Steve Tyler.

    It's not the first time Bowie has been involved with the show. He voiced Lord Royal Highness in the TV movie SpongeBob’s Atlantis SquarePantis.

    The plot is obviously still under wraps but it centres around the potential annihilation of their undersea world.

    The Hollywood Reporter reports that it's going to debut in November. No word on whether it will then head to Australia.
