Tones & I has made ARIA chart history with Dance Monkey, and honestly, she deserves every bit of success that comes to her.
She's broken the record for the longest streak at #1 on the ARIA Singles chart for an Australian artist, taking over from Justice Crew's Que Sera after spending ten weeks at the top of the charts.
The next challenge is to become the longest-running solo female artist at #1, a record she currently shares with Whitney Houston and Sandi Thom.
To claim the all-time record on the chart, Tones & I will have to spend 16 weeks at #1, surpassing Ed Sheeran's Shape Of You.
Understandably, she's pretty stoked about the whole situation.
A huge congratulations to @tonesandimusic, who breaks the #ARIACharts record for most weeks at #1 on the Singles Chart by an Australian artist as Dance Monkey spends its tenth week in the top spot! pic.twitter.com/F3qJVwNb1C
