Connecticut-born singer-songwriter Bennett might only have released a few singles, but she's already well and truly got our attention. She's showcased her talent through both covers and her own music, and her latest single, Give Me A Reason, might just be her strongest release yet, showcasing her powerful vocals as well as coming with a video that is visually stunning.
As her Twitter username says, Bennett got bops.
Bennett has already received some pretty glowing comparisons, having been compared to the likes of Ella Mai, Ari Lennox, Summer Walker and H.E.R - some of the best soul pop artists in the game currently. Give Me A Reason shows that it's only a matter of time before she's on the level of those mentioned as well, so the comparisons are well and truly justified.
Bennett is a fan of covers as well, having covered the likes of Jorja Smith, Frank Ocean and Britney Spears. It's her cover of Britney's Toxic that has gotten stuck in our heads, and her YouTube channel has a few of her favourite covers that she's done; it's definitely worth heading over and checking them out.
We can't wait to see what Bennett has in store for the rest of 2020. More new music is just around the corner, so it looks like this is set to be her year.
