Cool Accidents’ favourite Scot Scott aka Owl John, lead singer of Frightened Rabbit has dropped a couple of tracks of his forthcoming solo record which is due out on a yet to be confirmed date later this year.

There was a time when a man had a beard all over his body. That was years ago of course, when the male of the species also dragged women about by the hair and used birds’ beaks to play LPs. Step forward millennia later and we no longer drag women by the barnet and the invention of the stylus has made those poor, big-beaked birds’ lives significantly easier. But the beard remains, if in a more refined form.

Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchinson delivered a pretty bloody special version of Backyard Skulls for us on their recent tour of Australia kinda sorta under the bridge… OK… So it’s in front of the bridge but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a killer acoustic take of one of our favourite tracks off ‘Pedestrian Verse’.

 

Last night, the final day of April, I trekked over to The Hi Fi to catch one of my new favourite bands Frightened Rabbit.

I have listened to their album a couple of times, though not enough to know lyrics to sing along to – but enough to know that I was listening to Frightened Rabbit!
