British DJ/producer and one-third of The xx, Jamie xx, will be headlining a climate change concert in Sydney next week.

Florence + The Machine unveiled a new song Hunger today plus announced her fourth album High As Hope.

We were already excited for Florence's return but now we're even more so after hearing who she has recruited for the record.

The US festivals just keep delivering the goods this year with Outside Lands the latest to give us gold.

The San Fran festival has lined-up Florence + The Machine, The Weeknd and Janet Jackson as headliners proving that there's no shortage of female headliners.

Back in the old days the rock press used to take itself very seriously. This was probably rooted in a time when rock press still meant the alternative press which in turn still meant the counterculture. But it reached its apotheosis in the NME of the late 70s and early 80s when punk rock correctness ruled supreme and every record was searched and scanned for its “cultural signifiers”. 

I’m not saying we 100% agree with the Mercury prize decision but that’s probably because we are big fans of the Jamie XX album.

But it’s not a total surprise. Because we are huge Benjamin Clementine fans and we think you should think about it too.
