A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has been teasing the release of his fourth album, A Boogie Vs. Artist, for a while now, and he's just shared B4 AVA, an EP that serves as the prequel for A Boogie Vs. Artist. B4 AVA is a glimpse into A Boogie's mindset while writing the upcoming album, and it's an evolution of his songwriting.
The six-track EP features three songs from A Boogie and three songs from Artist, showing two different sides of his personality. The songs by A Boogie feature him putting his all into his raps, including Man in The Mirror, which sees him discussing the perks of fame. On the other hand, the songs by Artist are more vulnerable, including Be Free, where he talks about not being good enough for a former love.
Lil Durk features on bonus track 24 Hours, but otherwise B4 AVA is a solo effort. It gives him the space to shine, and we're looking forward to hearing more from both sides of A Boogie's music in the near future.
It's been a little while since we last heard from A Boogie on his own songs, releasing Artist 2.0 and Artist 2.0 (Deluxe) last year. He's been keeping things low-key throughout much of 2020 and 2021, but B4 AVA is proof that he's ready to return better than ever.
