Ashnikko is a baddie and we know it, she knows it, and turns out these top Australian drag queens know it too.
We called on Scarlett Fever, Prozac, Weird Alice Yankidic, Lady Fur, Twiggy Styx, Michelle Mayhem and Lazy Suzan to show us their best Ashnikko outfits and lipsyncs to London-based US rapper's song Daisy, and they slayed.
Just get a load of these blue wigs and fierce AF looks inspired by the Daisy music video. Iconic.
We also called on the queens to tell us why they stan Ashnikko so much and we couldn't agree more with what they had to say.
Twiggy Styx explained, "Ashnikko is unapologetically boss bitch weird. Which is something I totally love about her. Being true to myself and celebrating my weirdness helped me birth Twiggy Styx," while Lady Fur said, "I find a sense of empowerment in listening to Ashnikko’s music. It is bold, uninhibited and unapologetic but at the same time fun and playful! As a queer performer myself I am inspired by that conviction and creativity, as well as her ability to challenge the expectations and limits put on female artists in the music industry.”
Lazy Susan also nailed it with, "Show me a drag queen who doesn't stan an unapologetic queen with a penchant for curb-stomping rapists and I'll show you a liar. Ashnikko served the bops that saved us from 2020."
Check out why the other queens love Ashnikko and Daisy below.
Scarlett Fever - "I love Ashnikko because she’s absolutely INSANE and fearless! And that's what makes the best and most memorable artists! Her innovative style, sound and outlook is truly inspirational."
Prozac - "I love Ashnikko because visually she's like the MySpace scene queen doll I always wanted to be as a teenager, which speaks to what I try to achieve with my aesthetic as Prozac. Musically, I love her because she makes music for the evil queen in all of us. Listening to her music makes me feel like a Lisa Frank bitch who just buried her third husband."
Weird Alice Yankidic - "Ashnikko is weird and delightful and is pushing boundaries with her music and aesthetic!"
Michelle Mayhem - "I feel like she’s authentically herself and has such an interesting POV with her music. It doesn’t hurt that her aesthetic is on point too and she truly makes bops!"
