    Happy Galentine's Day: Nicki Minaj & Avril Lavigne Just Dropped A Tune Together

    It may be easily forgotten because she doesn't dominate news cycles every day like your Arianas and Taylors, but Avril Lavigne has been in the music industry solidly for over 15 years now! And as amazing as her debut album, Let Go, was, we just got a new banger from the Canadian punk princess. 

    Avril and Nicki Minaj just drpoped a new tune together and it's a feminist banger, just in time to mark Galentine's Day today.

    It's called Dumb Blonde and it's definitely got the bratty punk energy that imbued Avril's earlier years, a la Sk8er Boi and Girlfriend. With references to The Runaways' Cherry Bomb, it's just a totally party-starting but anthemic girl power track.

    Avril and Nicki have also been showering praise on each other on Twitter - Nicki noted that she "used to drive to my job @ Red Lobster playing this woman’s album for an hour straight everyday for months. Crying to “I’m with you”, blasting “complicated” “things I’ll never say” “nobody’s fool” “sk8er boi”".

    Avril also said, "I’ve been listening to her for so long. As soon as I recorded #DumbBlonde, I knew she’d be the perfect artist to collaborate with on it. When she said yes it was like a dream come true!!! I can’t wait for everyone to hear!"

    On Friday, Avril drops her new album, Head Above Water.
