Kiwi brothers Balu Brigada have unveiled their debut EP, with I Should Be Home arriving after years spent ensuring that groove-laden pop-rock is alive and well in the world.
Having been releasing music together for a number of years now, Balu Brigada – comprising multi-instrumentalist/songwriter/producer brothers Henry and Pierre Beasley – have spent their time crafting their own unique niche within the world of music.
In addition to their catchy hooks and punchy beats, the pair utilise an eccentric, left-of-centre approach to their songwriting, crafting inimitable pop sensibilities with a genre-shifting talent that remains unmatched. Understandably, they've managed to garner widespread acclaim across the board for their musical stylings, which refuse to neglect the groove of their insatiable pop-rock appetite.
This sort of approach has seen them score massive numbers on the likes of Spotify for singles such as Moon Man and Medicine, with fans flocking to their wholly refreshing and unique sound.
Now, following a pair of shows in Sydney and Auckland, the pair have not only released their new EP, but they've also been announced as the newest signing to Atlantic Records and Warner Music Australasia.
"It is a great moment for Warner Music Australasia to be teaming up with Atlantic Records on the joint signing of Balu Brigada for the world, added President of Warner Music Australasia, Dan Rosen. “This is the first deal WMA has done with Atlantic as joint venture label partners and to do this with Balu Brigada, one of New Zealand’s most exciting artists is really something special.
"We continue to strive to break our Aussie and Kiwi acts on the global stage and this partnership with the incredible team at Atlantic is the perfect launching pad for us to take the music of Balu Brigada to the world."
This exciting news of the pair's signing comes alongside the release of their long-awaited debut EP, I Should Be Home, which focuses on "the blurry experiences of growing into your own skin as a twenty-something".
