Back in 2001, we learnt a piece of information that had the potential to change lives forever - Beyoncé loves whales.

This information came courtesy of a Destiny's Child interview that features all three members of the group giving hilarious answers. The interview pops up on social media from time to time, as the three seem to be egging each other on, with the caption of the video reading "I'm convinced destiny's child smoked so many blunts before this interview. Beyoncé "i love whales" is iconic."

After watching the clip, we're not sure what actually went on that day to lead to such funny answers, but we've just received a denial from Bey herself that she wasn't blazed during the interview.

As part of a cover story for Elle, fans were able to ask Bey questions, with one fan asking, "If you could be an animal for a day, would you still be a whale?"

Bey, clearly getting the reference, answered, "I still love whales. And I love being in the ocean. And that video was after a 16-hour press day. Not marijuana!!"

Honestly, we're still not sure what the truth is, and we doubt we'll ever truly know what led to such a cooked interview. However, we're just glad Bey answered the question - because we weren't sure whether she still loved whales.
