Beyoncé has blessed us all.
She's just dropped The Liong King: The Gift, an album that accompanies The Lion King film, which is out now.
It's a separate thing to the soundtrack, and it's chock full of some of the biggest stars on the planet. Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, husband Jay-Z and more all feature, with daughter Blue Ivy Carter even having a writing credit.
Co-star Donald Glover also features on the album as musical alter-ego Childish Gambino.
Beyoncé previously released a taste of the album, premiering the music video for the first single Spirit. It's Bey's first film clip in over a ayear, and it's well worth the wait.
Speaking about the album, Bey explained, "The soundtrack is a love letter to Africa, and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa and not just, you know, use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it. I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa.
“A lot of the drums, the chants — all of these incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers from America, we’ve kind of created our own genre. And I feel like the soundtrack, it becomes visual in your mind. It’s a soundscape, it’s more than just the music because each song tells the story of the film.”
