If you're at all aware of Britney Spears' career, then you'll agree that she should be celebrated.
There's a petition going around calling for just that to happen, and we couldn't agree more.
As people consider the history of statues of confederate soldiers around the U.S, a petition has been launched to replace these statues with none other than statues of Britney Spears.
The petition has nearly 30,000 signatures and would see Britney honoured with statues around Louisiana, her home state.
The petition is addressed to Louisiana Governer John Bel Edwards, and says “before becoming one of the world’s most important and influential pop legends, Britney Spears was living life in a small southern town by the name of Kentwood, Louisiana.
“Not only has Britney proven her talent, but she’s proven her strength of character by not only overcoming highly publicised mental breakdown, but by continuously working towards improving herself. She’s an inspiration to millions.”

Throughout her career Britney has helped others, including through her charity, helping with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and doing what she can for her community.
If, like us, you'd like to see some statues of one of pop's most important icons put up around Louisiana, then you can sign the petition here.
