Budjerah, Ngaiire and Gretta Ray have teamed up to cover The Temper Trap's Sweet Disposition on The Sound, and it's instantly memorable. The vocal performances from all three artists are exemplary, and it's proof of both the enduring power of The Temper Trap's 2008 hit and the trio's talent.
It's been a big year for all three artists, and this cover features them at the peak of their powers. Budjerah recently won the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award at this year's ARIAs, and the cover follows on from the release of his soulful new single, Wash My Sorrows Away, as well as the release of his self-titled debut EP.
Ngaiire and Gretta Ray have also had big years - Ngaiire released her third album, 3, earlier this year, while Gretta Ray dropped her debut album, Begin To Look Around, with both projects being released in August.
The cover is a tribute to the late Michael Gudinski, and is a fitting tribute given his impact on the Australian music scene. Budjerah, Ngaiire and Gretta Ray are three of Australia's most exciting artists, and the performance at the Sydney Town Hall sees the trio combining for some gorgeous harmonies.
Sweet Disposition is a song that was close to Michael Gudinski's heart, and he told The Music Network back in 2019,“Great songs will stand the test of time. It’s a song that will go on. It’s one of the great Australian songs of all time.”

You can check out the cover below. The trio were joined by the wonderful Yavusa Choir for the performance, and we're going to be thinking about this one for a while.
