As one of the leading Afrobeat artists around right now, Nigerian rapper/singer Burna Boy is constantly innovating and this year, he's already dropped a collaborative EP with Los Angeles production duo DJDS, who have worked with Kanye, Khalid and Empress Of in the past.
Today the two acts have teamed up to drop a gorgeous two-part music video to the songs Thuggin and Darko, following day-to-day life in Nigeria in an intimate, artful way.
From Africa To The World: A Beginner's Guide To Afrobeat
It all starts off all in black and white for Thuggin, the downbeat, more pensive first movement of the song, and when Thuggin ends in tragedy, the more upbeat Darko hits and we see Nigeria in all its explosive colour as the community mourns.
It's haunting, thoughtful and frankly, a must-watch.
