Charli XCX has dropped a new song with frequent collaborator A.G. Cook and it's a wild ride.
Xcxoplex is a remix of Xxoplex off Cook's 2020 album Apple. This time around it has Charli's vocals on it and she takes it to another level.
The synths go hard and the beats crumble around her as Charli sings, "I close my eyes and elevate." It takes us right back to a rave even if the past 12 months haven't exactly been the stuff raves are made of.
Cook and Charli have been working together since Charli's Number 1 Angel mixtape. It's assumed that he is working with her on her forthcoming album which she's been teasing on social media.
Last we heard from her, she was telling fans about the artists that have inspired the record, with the main one being Janet Jackson.
She also added: "Cameo, sister sledge, serge gainsborg, steve vai black eyed peas, charlie puth, cyndi, rick james, taylor dayne, boy meets girl, belinda carlisle and more."
This is the second remix Charli has appeared on in a matter of weeks. She also took on Bladee's Drama, in a first-time collaboration for the pair.
We feel like it's Charli season.
