Charli XCX and Carly Rae Jepsen are underrated pop music saints so naturally anytime both their names appear in the same sentence the internet descends into pandemonium.
The pair gave into the requests to collab on Charli XCX's Pop2 opener Backseat back in 2017 and gave it a run live but since then they have been seemingly distant.
It looks like that's about to change though, according to both parties.
It all started when Jeppo hopped on Reddit for an AMA. Obviously, she was asked what the chances of another collab with Charli was and it turns out they're quite high.
"I really hope so we've kind of been chatting about the idea to be honest with you," she wrote, adding, "I dunno if that's a secret or not."

It doesn't just end there though. The plot thickens. Rostam, ex-Vampire Weekend member and producer of Haim, Clairo and more, picked up the tweet and responded with a zipped lips emoji.

Rostam worked with Jeppo on E.MO.TION's Warm Blood while he produced for Charli on Sucker's Need Ur Luv.
Back to the story though because it's not over yet. Charli has also chimed in. She wrote, "Imagine if..." on Twitter which basically confirms it.

So, I guess we have a frontrunner for the best pop song of 2020. Lock. It. In.
