It's no secret that Drake owes a lot to his mentor Lil Wayne, and he's taken to Instagram to remind everyone just how much Wayne believed in him.
Commenting on an Instagram post made by TIDAL Chief Content Officer Elliot WIlson, Drake said, “This man believed in me after so many never called again or just didn’t see it to begin with.
"Most selfless artist ever never held any of us back always pushed us forward every single night in people faces 20k packed into an arena and he had a whole set of his show dedicated to introducing us FOR YEARS…all praise and credit due to the GOAT.”
The Instagram post was showing a video of Lil Wayne talking about the first time that he met Drake, with Wayne saying, “As far as Drizzy — Drizzy was always just a knockout from the door. I’m honored he even chose me as an option.”
Recently, Wayne said on an episode of his podcast that while the pair hadn't worked together in a while, there was a plan to hit the studio together soon. “Now, something about me and Drizzy’s songs that we do together, we are both perfectionists. So, it’s not like you send me a joint, I’m going to throw a verse on there.
"We got a standard we got to live up to, we got a track record and a legacy we gotta always protect. And then on top of that, it’s like we have this thing where it’s like, well, if I’ma send you a joint and I’m going to go first, first of all – I already know, it’s like, all right, I know this man’s about to go crazy on me.”
Wayne was speaking to Drake on the podcast, and he made plans then and there to get something to Wayne to work on. “Well look, on that note, you have my word as a man and Mack [Maine], you can hold me to this when we get off the phone, I’m going to be in the studio. What’s today? Friday? I’m going to be in the studio all weekend. By midweek or maybe Monday night, you will have at least two joints.”

Clearly, the pair have a lot of love for each other, both professionally and personally, and we're hoping that we hear their next collaboration very soon. Whenever the pair hop on a track together, something great happens.
