In news that unfortunately surprises approximately zero hip hop fans, Drip World Festival's promoters have announced that the rap festival - originally set to kick off this August 31st - will be postponed to January 2020.
The brand new festival had enlisted the likes of heavyweights like Migos, French Montana and Akon but in a statement have announced that they've not been able to secure visas for "some of the key artists performing".
"We have waited until the 11th hour, in hopes that we would receive visas for some of the key artists performing on our incredible Drip World line-up and until this morning we have not received those visas. It has to be noted that we have no doubts that everyone on our line-up will be granted a visa into Australia. However, with delays in getting the submissions through for approval, there is no guarantee that they will all be granted in time for the festival tour starting this weekend," promoters YellowLive said on Drip World's website.
But they reckon they can get them all secured by January so they're looking at the silver lining - fans will now be listening to some of the world's biggest rappers under the summer sun, instead of bundled up under sweaters and jeans.
If you have tickets already, don't worry they'll still be valid for the new January dates when they announce them, but take note that the acts will be "like for like or better".
Australia hasn't had much luck with hip hop acts and rappers arriving on our shores for festivals - you'll remember that Migos cancelled their appearance on Field Day earlier this year, while in the past festivals like Supa Fest in 2010 and Movement Festival in 2013 have been canned before they happened.
On the flip side, we've been blessed in the last 12 months with Rolling Loud Festival, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky and Childish Gambino, so it's not all bleak.
Here's to hoping the visas come together for next summer because we're gonna be real sad if we don't get to see Lil Skies, Lil Xan and of course, sing along to Akon's Mr Lonely.
