British pop queen Dua Lipa has made a statement in support of her many Chinese LGBTQI fans, after reports showed that many were violently dragged out of her Shanghai show this week reportedly for waving rainbow pride flags.
Videos on social media showed security seemingly yanking fans out of their seats for getting up and dancing with their flags, leading Dua to address the situation in tears on stage.

It’s 2018,
This is not okay.
We all need to stand up now, refuse to accept this treatment and make a change. pic.twitter.com/ii4EnCfEwf— Dua Lipa IRL (@DuaLipaIRL) September 12, 2018

After the show, Dua took to her Twitter to write another statement, telling fans, "I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show. What you did takes a lot of bravery. I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity. I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved."
