Ahead of rapper Earl Sweatshirt's arrival on Australian shores for Laneway Festival next March, we attended the intimate event held at LA's MoCA Geffen Contemporary Museum this weekend. The 25-year-old sat in conversation with his own mother, Professor Cheryl I. Harris, who is a published academic from UCLA's Law faculty.
Talking all things art, music and life, including his latest record Feet Of Clay, whose name was actually inspired by his mum, hundreds gathered to hear the enlightening conversation, backed by the huge display of the Bible's Book Of Revelation and Book Of Daniel (both heavily influencing the album).
The room also displayed a 9-foot statue of Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzer, which he also brought to his recent Camp Flog Gnaw performance.
