Eco$ystem has released his new single, Birkin, and he's teamed up with fellow 66 Records member Lil Jaye for the track. It's a silky and melodic cut from two of Melbourne's best MCs. The song's name comes from the quotable hook, where Eco remarks that he wants his "mama in a Birkin", shouting out the iconic bag that's made by French luxury brand Hermès.
Both Eco and Lil Jaye's verses talk about the future, and spoiler alert: they've got big plans. Eco spits bars like "Move forward don’t live in no past/I want this shit to last", while Lil Jaye raps, "Spending some 50 and 100 I count up my cash on the daily/I tell em pay me". Don't get in their way while they're chasing success.
Ish Quan and Cw produced Birkin, and the track's beat features booming percussion, melancholic guitar and a bassline that'll rattle your eardrums. Eco and Lil Jaye glide over Ish and Cw's production, and you'll find yourself turning this one all the way up.
The music video for Birkin was directed by FLYNNMADEIT and Eco$ystem, and it brings the ambition that both rappers express in their lyrics to life. Both these rappers have big dreams, and they're not going to stop until they're living those dreams out every single day. The clip's full of luxury cars, and the visual looks like it was tons of fun to film. You'll even see Eco dunking in the clip, which is proof that he really can do it all.
