Australian EDM megastar Flume has had a huge 2019, and he's looking to give back to the next generation of superstars.
Taking to his YouTube channel, he's released 12 samples for budding producers to use in a project he's calling Flume Sound Files, and this drop isn't the only one, with further ones planned. The samples vary from six to 63 seconds long.
However, if you're planning to make a quick buck from the samples, you're out of luck. The User Agreement says the files are not to be used "in a commercial manner or for any financial benefit." However, if you're lucky, Flume will you use your creations to promote the project, getting heaps of eyes and ears onto your work.
In a tweet, Flume said "A more open source culture of creativity…wanted to put these out in the world and see what comes back - download a sound, create something."

That's how you give back to the music community.
Flume will be in the country soon for shows as part of the Listen Out line-up, and some of the creations that come from this might even get a run in his set, who knows?
