Frank Ocean loves to keep fans in the dark when he's working on new music, but it's just been revealed that he was working on something special with the director of Call Me By Your Name.

New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan was chatting with CMBYN director Luca Guadagnino about his new HBO show, We Are Who We Are, and Luca revealed he'd been working with Frank on a "secret project".

However, don't expect it to come out anytime soon, as it sounds like it's been paused.

Speaking to Kyle, Luca says, "We were collaborating on a music video that never happened. I use the Times to launch an appeal to Frank: Frank, let's do that video. Come on."

Frank is a huge fan of Call Me By Your Name. He's written about it on Tumblr before, expressing his particular admiration for Michael Stuhlbarg's character in the film, Mr Perlman.

CMBYN has become a cult classic thanks to its depiction of 1980s Italy, as well as a portrayal of a same-sex first love. We think these themes would suit a music video for Frank Ocean perfectly, especially in the hands of Luca Guadagnino.
