Frank Ocean news is often scarce, which is why this clip of Frank Ocean singing at his high school graduation caught our attention. It's an insight into Frank's singing pre-Odd Future.
The footage, which was uploaded by YouTube user Daymond Burditt, features Frank singing at his 2005 high school graduation in New Orleans. He's introduced to the stage by a fellow graduate, before leading everyone in attendance in a rendition of the John Ehret High School Alma Mater.
The YouTube comments are cheekily suggesting that Narduwar was the one that recorded the clip, while others are using the emergence of the footage to call for a new album. It's been a while since we last heard a full project from Frank, as he released the acclaimed Blonde back in 2016.
Speaking about the influence that New Orleans had on him, Frank told Passion Of The Weiss that while he wasn't consciously influenced by New Orleans' music scene, "I was definitely influenced by the character of the city, the energy of the city, it definitely doesn’t have an American feel.
"I haven’t traveled outside of the country yet, but I’ve been in most of the major cities in America and there’s no place like it. A lot of real shit goes on in New Orleans. I wouldn’t have chosen to grow up anywhere else.
