Last week we copped Hayley Williams' first solo song Simmer, with a horror movie-esque video of her running through the forest naked, and now Hayley's gifted us another similarly eerie song and music video for a second song called Leave It Alone.
In it, she's some sort of... scaly, flowery bird, with talons and cable ties on her head, writhing in a white nest, but the fantasy Hayley is juxtaposed with a normal Hayley dancing in a forest. Directed by Warren Fu like Simmer, it's Hayley like we've never seen her before.
The song itself is unexpected - it's slow, meditative and stripped back - it seems like the overall vibe of this Petals For Armor project so far. Artful, mystical and introspective are all words that come to mind, but perhaps Hayley has some surprises up her sleeve.
Petals For Armor will drop May 8th.
