It's been a long time since Paramore released their last album, 2017's After Laughter, but in a recent newsletter, lead singer Hayley Williams suggests that 2022 may just see the band return.
The last two years have been busy ones for Hayley, releasing two solo albums; Petals For Armor in 2020, and FLOWERS for VASES / descansos in early 2021.
Writing in the newsletter, Hayley thanked fans for the love shown for Petals For Armor and FLOWERS for VASES / descansos, which she says allowed her to "dance with demons [she'd] been too afraid to acknowledge before."
She went on to write, “I know we didn’t get to properly come together to sing and vent and sweat it all out… but I do think that Petals and descansos lived exactly the lives they were meant to. Besides, Paramore can’t be ‘on a break’ forever now can we?"
Her concluding line is the strongest hint yet that Paramore are preparing for a return in 2022, rounding out the newsletter with “I love y’all. See you sometime next year?”
It's not the first time in 2021 she's hinted at Paramore's return - earlier this year, she responded to a fan's question on Twitter by saying "I'm ready for the next Paramore album. let's go."
