Ever found out something that rocked you to your core?
That's how we're currently feeling.
First, some context. Joe Rogan is an MMA commentator and podcaster, who has been thoroughly memed by the Internet, and rarely crosses into the music sphere (and when he does, it's to interview people like Kanye West).
Meanwhile, Gerard Way is the ex-frontman of one of the best emo bands ever, My Chemical Romance, as well as a hugely successful solo artist, and just generally a huge sweetheart.
In a recent interview with Kevin Smith, Smith asked Rogan the question that would send shockwaves through our systems, “I’ve gotta ask a question on behalf of somebody else. Your grandmother? Named Josie? Gerard Way? Lead singer of My Chemical Romance?”
To which Rogan replied, "Yeah, we're related. We're cousins."
The pair don't know each other, so Smith seems to be the middle-man, recounting that Way told him, “I don’t have 100% confirmation on this, but I’m pretty sure Joe Rogan is my cousin because my Aunt Josie was his grandmother.”
Much like us, Twitter doesn't know what to do with this news.
