Kacey Musgraves is set to voice a character as part of the English-language cast of the upcoming Studio Ghibli film, and she says it's her "all-time biggest heart dream".
Kacey will be part of the cast for Earwig And The Witch, which is set to come out in early 2021. In the film, Kacey will be voicing Earwig's mother, as well as singing the English-language version of the film's theme song, Don't Disturb Me.
Earwig And The Witch is set to be directed by Goro Miyazaki, who also directed From Up On Poppy Hill and Tales From Earthsea. The story is taken from Diana Wynne Jones' book of the same name.
The film follows Earwig, a brave orphan who lives with a selfish witch. She's on a journey to meet her mother (Kacey) who has magical powers. Along the way, Earwig discovers a world of spells and potions, as well as a song that's set to help her find her lost family.
Posting about her involvement, she says she's always been a huge Studio Ghibli fan, and she's excited to be "playing the witch I truly am".
