It's been 10 years since Kanye West released his iconic album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and his wife Kim Kardashian has revealed she helped inspire one of the tracks on the album.
For Kim's 30th birthday, Kanye wrote a poem that would become the lyrics for the track Lost In The World, and Kim took to social media to share the story.
Posting on Instagram, Kim says, “For those that don’t know the story behind Lost In The World…Kanye couldn’t come up with some of the lyrics but then realized he had them in a poem he had written me that was my birthday card he gave me for my 30th birthday."
“He took the poem he wrote me and made it the song. I keep everything!” The card also features a stick figure drawing of Kanye and Kim, with the two living it up.
The poem reads, "You’re my devil/ You’re my angel/ You’re my heaven/ You’re my hell/ You’re my now/ You’re my forever/ You’re my freedom/ You’re my jail/ You’re my truth/ You’re my war/ You’re my truce/ You’re my questions/ You’re my proof/ You’re my stress and you’re my masseuse."
Kanye signs the card off with “late is better than never!” and “love 4Ever Yeezy.” You can tell how much Kanye cared for Kim, and it's no surprise that they eventually ended up together.
