This Friday, Kehlani will drop her next mixtape While We Wait. It comes two years after the release of her debut album SweetSexySavage and four years after her last mixtape You Should Be Here. While it may seem like it's been a while, Kehlani hasn't be slowing down. She's amassed a huge discography and so we thought we should shine a light on it while we wait for the mixtape.

    Her Own Songs

    'While We Wait' Singles

Kehlani has so far dropped three songs off While We Wait. We started off with Nights Like This featuring Ty Dolla $ign, then we got the acoustic Butterfly and this week, we received Nunya.

    Good Life

Kehlani jumped on The Fate Of The Furious with G Eazy for a massive anthem. It's not an easy job following up Charlie Puth & Wiz Khalifa's See You Again from the previous film but this one is a huge tune.

    Honey

Honey is basically a demo and yet it's become one of her most endearing songs. It's an acoustic cut that shows off every crevice of Kehlani's perfect voice.

    Touch

Touch feels like it moves in slow motion. It's a powerful, elongated R&B track that oozes sexual tension.

    Again

Like Honey, Again is an acoustic cut that puts Kehalni's voice front and centre. You can hear the honesty and rawness at every moment here.

    Already Won

You needa give yourself props when you deserve them and this is an anthem for that.

    Features

    Stormzy - Cigarettes & Kush

Kehlani appeared on one of the mellower songs from Stormzy's debut album Gang Signs & Prayer, also teaming up with Lily Allen.

    Calvin Harris - Faking It

Kehlani and Lil Yachty lent their vocals to this absolute sizzler from Calvin Harris' Funk Wav Bounce Vol. 1. It's our personal favourite off the record and proof of Kehlani's versatility.

Charlie Puth - Done For Me

This was Kehlani's big pop moment and she knocked it out of the park. Charli and Kehlani was not a collab we saw coming but it turns out their voices blend effortlessly.

G Eazy - Everything Will Be Ok

Before they teamed up for Good Life, Kehlani appeared on G Eazy's album When It's Dark Out.

    Khalid - Location

Khalid's Location was already a massive hit when Kehlani dropped on it but she made it even bigger with a soulful, smouldering verse.

    Eminem - Nowhere Fast

Kehlani's powerful collab with Eminem may have been her biggest yet. The song's power culminated in an explosive performance at the iHeartRadio Awards where Em brought a heavy anti-gun message aimed at the NRA.

    Kyle - Playinwitme

Kehlani and Kyle have teamed up in the past but Playinwitme is their funnest yet. It tapped into charts globally and became one of Kyle's most accessible moments to date.

Hayley Kiyoko - What I Need

What I Need was easily one of the best pop songs of last year and also became a queer anthem driven by its two vocal, powerful creators.

    Saweetie - Icy Girl

Saweetie's Icy Girl blew up the internet when it dropped but nobody was ready for Kehlani's heat when she dropped on a remix. She tried her hand at rapping and absolutely nailed it.

    Cardi B - Ring

Kehlani and Cardi B have been manifesting a collab since they knew of each other's existence and it finally culminated in this Invasion Of Privacy highlight. Ring triumphs with '90s RnB melodies and a friendship that's magnetic.

    Jesse Reyez - Body Count

Normani, Jesse Reyez and Kehlani is a girl group that we never knew we needed. They brought rawness and charisma to this remix of Reyez's own song Body Count.

    Dounia - Rich Girl Mood

NYC singer Dounia is new to the scene but she came out strong with Kehlani on Rich Girl Mood. It's a blinged-up flex that drips with confidence.

    Tech Start Up

On top of doing a ridiculous amount of features, Kehlani has been focussing on her tech start up Flora. In 2017, she secured $50,000 worth of funding from Backstage Capital for the app which aims to deliver "curated green content" to people in the age range of 16 to 25. She launched it here and you can check it here.

    A Baby

As if she wasn't already doing enough, Kehlani has been doing a lot of this with a child growing inside. In October 2018, she announced that she was four months pregnant with a baby girl. She's due to give birth within the next few weeks now and will also have a mixtape in our hands as well.
