Oliver Tree's just released his new single, Cowboys Don't Cry, and it's a bit of a different direction for him. He's embraced country music, and in a recent TikTok, he's given fans a glimpse into what it was like when he went in to record Cowboys Don't Cry.
Playing both the producer and himself in the TikTok, he walks into the studio dressed like a cowboy, which initially throws the producer off his game. However, once Oliver starts singing the chorus from Cowboys Don't Cry, the producer gets into it - as well as the version of Oliver Tree from the Ugly Is Beautiful era.
The track features on his upcoming album, Cowboy Tears, which was written to help men express themselves. “Cowboys are the toughest guys. It’s okay for us tough guys to cry, and the thing is, it’s okay for everyone to cry,” Oliver explains.
“There’s a lot of anger that comes out of holding in your emotions, and that’s really popular for guys. Cowboy Tears is teaching people how to let it out and be able to put it out in a way that isn’t going to be violent or self-destructive.” Cowboy Tears is out on February 18th.
