A lot's changed since we last heard from the Australian electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL, and their new song, Alive, is a reminder of the year that's just gone.
Alive is the first time we've heard new music from the band since their 2018 album SOLACE, and it's a continuation of the themes from that album. Alive is a celebration of our continued existence, acknowledging that while 2020 and 2021 have been years that we'll never forget, there have also been some highs.
The song's stadium-sized production forms a platform for lead singer Tyrone Lindqvist's vocals, and it's an intense track, talking about the year that was. The song builds towards a drop of epic proportions, and for a moment, it's easy to forget the world that exists around us.
Speaking about the track, Tyrone says, “It’s a heavier song in some ways, but at its core it's hopeful. We are - all of us - living in this transitional moment right now and we wanted to focus on the hope that the future holds for us all. To focus on the light at the end of this tunnel."
