It turns out you can be too famous for a dating app - at least, if you're Sam Smith.
They recently told a story about how they were blocked from using dating app Hinge after uploading some photos of themself.
The app's moderators assumed it was someone else attempting to catfish people, rather than the singer being on there for real.
Speaking to Watch What Happens Live, Sam says, “They chucked me off of it after one night because they thought I was a catfish pretending to be me.”
Sam's been using the dating apps to find romance during the pandemic, something that a lot of people can relate to, saying “I’m on the front line with all the single people still and it’s been difficult. I’ve gone on all the apps and stuff.”

If you're single and in the UK, you might just run into them on Tinder, which they're going to try next. Don't say anything silly, or you might find yourself as the subject of one of Sam's future songs.
