Perth drum'n'bass maestro ShockOne is back with the next chapter in his A Dark Machine story and this one is a bit of a departure from what we've come to know from him.
Underloved is bigger, brighter, breakbeat-driven and features the dulcet tones of mystery vocalist Cecil. The track follows tracks A Dark Machine featuring Reija Lee and Bleed Black featuring Cruz Patterson as the next chapter in the Dark Machine story and we're here for it.
ShockOne says, "It’s a drastic departure from my regular sound. However, in the context of the rest of the music on the Dark Machine project, I like to think of this song as a bit of a beacon of shining light, a moment of respite from the fairly oppressive nature of the music surrounding it.
"I owe a lot of that to the vocalss Cecil brought to the song, this is the first time we’ve worked together and I hope not the last. It wasn’t until I heard her vocals over the instrumental that I realised how big it could be, her vocal performance really lifted the song up to the next level.”
ShockOne's preparing to play Spilt Milk festival tomorrow and then set off on a headline tour of his own through New Zealand, before returning for Breakfest in his hometown of Perth.
In the new year he'll be supporting The Prodigy around the country!
