Wollongong artist/producer/multi-instrumentalist Stevan has teamed up with Virginia's Tommy Richman for his new single, Crash, and it'll get stuck in your head. Brimming with energy, the track is Stevan's second release of 2022, following on from April's The Wave. The song sees Stevan reaching out to that special someone, telling them how much he needs them. If you've ever felt like that, then Crash might just be your new go-to track.
Crash is a taste of Stevan's upcoming EP, which is set to be released in the near future. The song arrives alongside a self-directed music video, which saw Stevan work closely with Christopher Kidallpark. The off-the-wall clip features masks, mayhem and more, and it has to be seen to be believed.
Speaking about the clip, Stevan explains, “It was crazy being able to work on the Crash video with one of my closest childhood friends Christopher Kidallpark. It’s even crazier that it’s my directorial debut and my full vision was captured. Paired with Chris’s skills behind the camera and his editing Crash is the proudest I’ve been of a visual.”
In more good news, Stevan's also announced that he's signed to Purple Phase, a label that's run by Zaac, Sam and Elliot Margin from The Rubens alongside their managers Greg Carey and Michael Ridgewell. Speaking about Crash, as well as the signing, Stevan explains, “Crash is probably the most excited I’ve ever been for a release. I feel like it reflects my personality 100%, and artistically it’s the most free I’ve felt too.
"It’s a great start to my partnership with Purple Phase. I think our relationship is more like a family, as opposed to your traditional artist/label dynamic. I can tell just how much they care about me and my vision, which makes me feel so confident in my ideas, and fortunate to be around people who believe in me this much. It’s an official takeover!”
