You're busy people and you don't have time to trawl through all the new music that came out today to find the best, particularly when you may come across a Chainsmokers song which we wouldn't wish upon anyone. Luckily, we're not busy people so we did it for you. Here's a Chainsmokers-free list of the best new music.
Bonobo - Kerala
Bonobo is back with the first single from his fifth album - a Brandy-sampling, luscious cut called Kerala. The record Migration is out on 13th January and it features Michael Milosh from Rhye and ol' mate Nick Murphy (RIP Chet Faker).
RL Grime x What So Not x Skrillex - Waiting
You should know just by looking at the artists involved that this is huge. It sounds like the three artists are standing on earth ready to fight of a meteor and given the size of the track, they may just win. Massive.
Kiiara - Dopemang
Kiiara is back today with a hip-hop-leaning cut Dopemang which may just be the darkest, most twisted thing she's ever released. As per usual, the super dark vibes are sweetened by Kiiara's slippery melodies and auto-tuned vocals.
Venus II - I Want U 4 Myself (World Champion Remix)
Future Classic boys World Champion have taken on Venus II's I Want U 4 Myself and won. They've turned the sensual, slow-building track into a groovy, kitsch cut that makes it even more sultry.
Allan Smithy - Wasted Years
You don't find singer/songwriters much more honest than local lad Allan Smithy. He's just dropped his debut EP I See A Palm Tree and it's full of vivid, unfiltered songwriting. Wasted Years is one we haven't heard yet and it keeps up with the standard of the previous three singles.
Meek Mill - Froze (Feat. Lil Uzi Vert & Nicki Minaj)
Meek Mill's DC4 is a definite return to form for the US rapper and Froze is one of the best tracks from the project. We know him and Nicki Minaj go together like salt and pepper but it's nice to hear Lil Uzi Vert thrown in the mix with a slippery bar. It's good before Minaj steps in but she elevates it to greatness.
Methyl Ethel - No. 28
Just over a year after their stunning debut, Methyl Ethel are returning with a new album. No. 28 is the first single from it and it's melodically perfect with those laidback vibes that the boys deliver so well. The album has been produced with James Ford who also works with Arctic Monkeys and Florence And The Machine so it's probably gonna be some next level shit.
