Central Cee has just released his new single, Cold Shoulder, and it's a personal track that talks about his upbringing, and the responsibility that's been placed on him as a result of his success. Central Cee doesn't try and sugar-coat his past, rapping lyrics like "Remember the flooring peelin' off, had damp all over the ceilin'".
The video for Cold Shoulder captures both Central Cee's past and present, with shots of him performing to massive crowds placed between shots of him spending time in different parts of London. It mirrors the story of the track - he's not someone that's going to forget where he's come from.
In amongst the footage present in the video for Cold Shoulder is a clip of Australian star The Kid LAROI and Central Cee linking up. While it might initially come as a surprise that LAROI features in the video, the pair have history.
During LAROI's performance at Reading Festival in 2021, he brought out Central Cee as part of his performance, with the pair performing Central Cee's Loading together. Speaking during the performance, LAROI said that he brought Central Cee out to "pay respect" to the music that he personally loves.
Cold Shoulder is on Central Cee's upcoming mixtape, 23, which is set to drop on February 25th. Alongside the release of Cold Shoulder, Central Cee shared the tracklist and artwork for 23, and you can check out the tracklist below.
