    It's been a huge year for Australian music, and the 2022 Grammy Awards nominations prove it, with a stack of Australian artists picking up nominations.  The Kid LAROI has been nominated for Best New Artist, RÜFÜS DU SOL have been nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their single Alive and Hiatus Kaiyote picked up a nomination for their album Mood Valiant, nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album.

    LAROI's had a monumental year, releasing the smash single Stay alongside Justin Bieber, while also featuring on JB's album Justice (which has been nominated for Album Of The Year). He recently announced the end of his F*CK LOVE era, telling fans he was going on hiatus until he releases his long-awaited debut album.

    Meanwhile, RÜFÜS DU SOL released their massive 4th album, Surrender, this year, and have announced a huge Australian tour for 2022 to celebrate. We recently spoke to RÜFÜS about the new album, as well as how life overseas has been during the pandemic.

    Hiatus Kaiyote continue to go from strength to strength, Australian R&B is in a great place at the moment, and Hiatus Kaiyote are leading the charge. Australian legends AC/DC have also been nominated in three categories, proving that rock truly never dies.

    Elsewhere, Justin Bieber was nominated for seven awards, as was Doja Cat for her record Planet Her. Oliver Rodrigo received six nominations for her album Sour, including in all top four categories. Billie Eilish was also nominated for six awards for Happier Than Ever.
