Brisbane electronic auteur The Kite String Tangle (or Danny Harley on his passport) has been awarded the prestigious Grant McLennan Fellowship this year.
What does that mean? It means Danny's walking away with $25,000 cash to help him create music in Berlin next year.
“Danny impressed the judges with his songwriting, his commitment to his craft and the manner in which he has established himself in Queensland’s creative community," the judges said.
The Grant McLennan Scholarship is named after the famous Brisbane Go-Betweens muso and allows the winner to choose to live in Berlin, New York or London for up to six months for creative inspiration and career development.
Danny said of his win, "So honoured to have won the Grant McLennan Fellowship last night!! ... The fellowship affords me the chance to develop my songwriting skills and get inspired whilst living in Berlin for a few months in 2019. Super grateful, and can't wait!!!"
Congrats mate!
