Lana Del Rey's Lust For Life came out on Friday with many heralding it the best of her career so far.
There's one song on there that's probably going to stop you in your tracks though and that's Change, the 15th song on the album.
It's now been revealed that it was the song that almost existed. Producer Rick Nowels has annotated the lyrics on Genius saying that Lana wanted to record the song the day before the album was due.
"We were mastering the album and had to turn it into the label the next day," he wrote.
"Lana called me that afternoon and said that she had one more statement to make for the album and that she wanted to record a new song that night. That song turned out to be “Change”. We started it at 8 p.m. and by 2 a.m. the record was done."
It's a pretty incredible feat given how profound the song is on the album with Lana at her most vulnerable and political.
Lust For Life is out now and you can hear Change below.
