triple j has just announced that starting on June 20th, they'll be showcasing the best First Nations music on Blak Out, a new weekly show.
Every Sunday from 5-6pm, Yuin and Thunghutti man/MC Nooky will be speaking to First Nations artists, as well as premiering new tracks and introducing you to your new favourite musicians.
Speaking about the show, Nooky says, “Blak Out is the FUBU of radio: For Us, By US. From old unk singing round the fire to the lil cuzzo spitting fire, this show serves more heat than nan’s curried sausages. Represent the present, remember the past, showcase the future!”
When he's not on the radio, Nooky's also a rapper, and is currently signed to Briggs' Bad Apples label. Informally known as the "Mayor Of Nowra", his recent Bars Of Steel performance knocked our socks off.
