Got a musical idea that you think would suit international stars Holly Humberstone, bbno$, renforshort, Porter Robinson, Superorganism or PUP? Now's your chance to bring it to life, thanks to triple j Unearthed's DIY Supergroup competition.
Over the last couple of years, they've worked with Australian artists like Flume, Genesis Owusu and Tkay Maidza to create a sample pack for Unearthed artists to use in songs as part of the competition. This year, things are going international.
As part of the competition, you'll have access to exclusive, custom-made samples from these artists. All you need to do is create a song using stems from three or more of the artists featured in the sample pack and upload the track to Unearthed. Include #DIYSupergroup in the name of the track so the team at Unearthed can find it.
The pack includes vocals from bbno$, Holly Humberstone and renforshort, synth and bass stems from Superorganism, guitar stems from PUP, loops from Porter Robinson and so much more. You're truly spoilt for choice.
Past winners include anonymous Sydney hip-hop group ROYBOY, who used samples from Tame Impala, G Flip, Amy Shark and Flume to create the hypnotising switchUP back in 2020, while last year Wadawurrung producer MOSS's SABRE TEETH won the competition, and the track was later officially released as a collaboration with Genesis Owusu.
