Sometimes an R&B crooner, sometimes a rapper, Turquoise Prince is many things at once - from cheeky and foul-mouthed to introspective and vulnerable. We're getting the latter today from the Canberra artist's first official track since last July, Some Nights.
Premiered on Home & Hosed this week on triple j, TP's soothing vocals are backed with some early-2000s UK garage vibes on this one. It's a far cry from the last song he dropped called Eric Banas, an unofficial but hard AF rap on the fake personalities in the music industry, this lyrical skills and more.
Of the song, he says, "It's a song that's close to my heart, I wrote it when I was in a sad place, everyone's been there."
Either way, we're super glad to see Turquoise Prince spring into action this year as one of Australia's more unique hip hop stars. He'll be headed to his hometown of Canberra for a performance at One Day In The Capital on March 2nd with Joyride, Sophiegrophy and more.
