Sydney-born MADAM3EMPRESS (real name Shanae Masters) grew up living between Australia and her parents' home country of South Africa, and music served as her way of staying connected to both countries.

Taking influence from gospel music and Cape-Townian jazz, as well as her love for neo-soul, R&B and hip-hop, MADAM3EMPRESS has set out to make music that’s unapologetic and razor sharp.

Late 2020, she released Come On Over Pt.2 alongside Magenta, and it’s a seriously stylish introduction to her sound. She’s got confidence for days, and the skills to match.  Taking inspiration from 2-step house/Garage, the track’s video will make you wish you were at the party MADAM3EMPRESS and her friends are at. It looks like a ton of fun. 

It’s dropped just in time for summer to really kick off, and the track will find its way onto your summer playlists.

It seems her music is a way for her to feel truly free and pay homage to her heritage. Her connection to music helped her develop her identity and purpose, and that comes through with every musical choice she makes.

She’s inspired by the likes of Sampa The Great and Kaiit, who have both helped create spaces in Australian music for others to shine. MADAM3EMPRESS is making music on her own terms, and she wants to inspire those around her to speak their truth through their own songwriting.

Given the strength of Come On Over Pt.2 as an introduction to MADAM3EMPRESS, we're not surprised what a saucy little tune her new song Locking Eyes is. Boasting a bit of flamenco inspiration, it's got us feeling hot and heavy like it's 2am on a sticky night out in Spain.
